Magazine Advert
This is my magazine advert for my music video. I included a low angle image of the artist from the music video with an old age effect. This image is effective as our music video is anti-technology and in this picture you can see the artist is wearing headphones whilst also playing the guitar there juxtaposing both hippy and business. I included the website of our album and also the twitter so if any of our audience had any questions, wanted to find out any information or wanted to leave any comments they could do so by using these links. The name of the album is listed in big, bold writing to clearly indicate the title and make it further recognisable. The date it is released is listed underneath to show people when it is available for download or to purchase from stores and ginally it has a quote from NME which states that the 'number 1 single punk rocker' was included which was a very likeable song therefore may attract people to purchase the whole album. An overall rating is shown underneath to portray the average opinion of NME.
DigiPak
This is my own DigiPak for my music video. On the front cover I included a picture from the music video in black and white with the title of the album. The CD i designed had a hippy sign on it with the flowers inbetween to juxtapise the nature and hippy scenes. The left hand side shows the artist playing the guitar in the field and finally the back cover shows an extreme long shot of the artist in the field with the song titles included listed down the middle. A barcode is shown also to show the price when scanned.

Evaluation Question 4
Evaluation Question 4
How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?
Research and Planning
Alongside all the group meetings and discussions we had in and out of school, we also used various types of media technology to organise any filming we were going to do, where would meet to film or just to send each other ideas of different locations we could film in.
We used our smartphones often to communicate with one another if we were to see anything or think of anything that we feel may have been an advantage to our music video, we also texted each other to confirm the costume and where we will be meeting to film.
During our project of making a music video I also browsed on websites such as google and tumblr to gather ideas for our costume of a 'hippy girl'. The main website I visited was youtube, this was to find all my ideas on which song we would use, whilst looking at other artists music videos to research and plan further ideas and examples.
Once we had chosen the song we were going to use for our music video we decided we would e-mail the record label (RCA Records) of the song we had chosen "Sandi Thom - I wish I was a punk rocker" through their own website, where we could leave comments or to contact them, with hope that they would maybe get back in touch with us, which unfortunately they didn't, but we mostly sent this e-mail in politeness to solely say that we will not sell the video and not copyright issues will be intended, it is strictly for educational purposes only as A-level Media students.
This is my mood board I created to gather a few ideas on the costumes, props and locations I had thought of for my music video. I used photoshop to put all these pictures together and they were all ideas which I ended up using in my finalised music video.
Prelim
At the beginning of A2 we experimented with filming our music videos and created a prelim. This was a fun task which allowed us to try out new things and experiment mainly with the lip syncing and how to ensure this was precise. We filmed the prelim on a HD panasonic camera which allowed us to capture clear, crisp footage and have clear sound also.
Construction
Music Video
When making our music video I feel I learnt and excelled in my skills with new technology particularly here. I was able to use the Panasonic HD camera to film all of my footage aswell as using the Flip Camera to film behind the scene shots or to create vlogs on what we were doing/filming. From AS I already had a clear understanding of how to use iMovie however this year I used Final Cut Express which allowed us to layer different shots, change the saturation and lengths of shots and also change the colours. Alongside Final Cut Express I also used photoshop to change the colours of my music video when putting the business side in black and white.
Furthermore I also enhanced my skills when using the green screen effect to put the artist onto a specific background of our choice, I felt this was going to be very tricky to do, but once I had filmed what i needed and uploaded it onto the macs, i felt fairly confident with how to layer the shot onto a new background which i did so and succeeded.
My smartphone also came in handy if I was out and saw a good shot I could use for a cutaway shot I would use my iPhone, upload it straight onto my blog through my 'Blogger' app and would write about why I thought this was a good idea for our music video.
We created an account for our artist on a social networking site called Twitter. We followed other artists similar to our own such as Kate Nash and Florence and The Machine. Twitter allowed our audience to contact us by just using our account name "@Daisy_TheChains" and then leaving a comment and also to hear/see any information on our artists work such as album release dates or any new forthcoming singles.
Digipak
When making my album cover/digipak I used Photoshop on the front cover to keep the phone box in red and the rest of the image in black and white. The basic editing on photoshop is something me along with others feel fairly confident with, however I feel I enhanced my creative skills here by using a tool called 'magic wand' which I used to highlight the phonebox.
Evaluation
When creating my evaluation I used my scmartphone, iPhone, to film some of my questions whilst also using Prezi, the online website to present work, to post one of my questions. This allowed me to also use 'Scribd' to upload word documents and also use Youtube to upload videos.

Evaluation Question 3
What have you learnt from your audience feedback?
Evaluation Question 2
Evaluation Question 2
How effective is the combination of your music video with you digipak and magazine advertisement?
When creating my digipak and magazine advert I wanted to keep the idea of the split scenes in our music video consistent throughout; this was so that our target audience would make a clear link between them and recognise the digipak/magazine advert against the artist/song. I done this by including pictures and shots from my music video on both digipak and magazine.
Keeping the similar colours of the old age effect and the black and white effect on my music video, digipak and magazine advert was something I wanted to keep the correlation between throughout as these show the different era's and the difference in the dominance of technology. My digipak included a front cover of the artist in the business side of the music video, I used photoshop to create this picture to keep the phone box in red and everything around it in black and white, this was to highlight the technology included and the importance of it. For the CD I included the peace symbol '☮' with flowers round the edge, I felt this was effective as it showed juxtaposition between hippy and technology (the CD). I centralised the back of my digipak with my track list looking as thought it is folding down from the sky.

I also decided I would have the artist as the main focus on my magazine advert to create synergy between the two, this was as people would already recognise her, but even more so as it is a shot from the music video making it furthermore familiar to the audience. I used the image of the artist sitting in the field with the guitar and headphones to contrast the two whilst also showing freedom - something we wanted to portray in our music video through the hippy scene. The low angle shot we used allows the artist to look more dominant and have the attention on her and the trees and grass used to compose the image. The artist also has an emotionless face in this image to show the background meaning of anti-technology.
The clothes our artist was dressed in, symbolised and reflected the music with the guitar, flower headband, and doc martens portraying the hippy girl whereas we also had the artist dressed in a black dress, black blazer and red lipstick to show how times have changed through the introduction of technology.

Audience Feedback
This is a message i received from a girl of our target audience with feedback in relation to our music video. She explains that she particularly liked the way we had two split personalities throughout the music video.
Here is the questionnaire which I made to ask my audience after watching my music video. The feedback overall was very positive and everybody seemed to understand the narrative and the concept of anti-technology.

Green Screening
Whilst filming our music video we decided to use our creative skills and attempt to green screen some shots. We used a shot of posters falling to green screen onto a brick wall to look as though they are advertisements and we green screened the shot of the artist with headphones and phones into a field scene to show anti-technology and the contrast with nature and technology.
